Happy Birthday Aishwarya Rai

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s 37th birthday. Aishwarya was born  in Mangalore, on 1 November 1973. Her father Krishnaraj Rai is a retired marine biologist and mother Vrinda Rai is a writer. Her elder brother Aditya Rai is an engineer in the merchant navy. Brought up in Mumbai, Ash studied at Arya Vidya Mandir High School, then moved to Jai Hind College and finally did her HSC degree from Ruparel College. Changing Lanes: Ash dreamt of becoming an architect but then changed track to modeling. In the 1994 Miss India pageant, she was the favourite to win but was beat out narrowly by Sushmita Sen. She was crowned Miss World 1994. She finally entered the world of films. Her debut film Iruvar in Tamil, a fictionalised account of the lives of Dravidian political icons MG Ramachandran and M Karunanidhi, was directed by Mani Ratnam. After which there was no looking back and is prominently seen in most of the Indian and English language movies. She got engaged to Abhishek Bachchan on 14th January 2007 and married on 20th April 2007.
